STEM/STEAM Learning Environments
Education is changing and adapting to modern times and needs. School buildings are no longer just a series of classrooms made for staring at a chalkboard; they are environments designed to encourage questioning, exploration, building, and problem-solving. Students that were once troublemakers are becoming star-pupils because, rather than sitting at a desk all day and listening, they are given the opportunity to explore on their own, work with their hands, and interact with others. It’s a psychological paradigm shift, and the building itself contributes to this new type of learning.
At SES, we have worked on several exciting STEM features and facilities, and many of our design elements are quickly spreading to school districts across the country, helping to set a new standard for the future of STEM/STEAM schools (and curriculum) to come.
